Delta Goodrem

I am a fan of Delta Goodrem and have been every since I first saw her perform "Born To Try" on Neighbors a couple of years ago.

She has a beuitiuful natural voice and she even writes alot of her own music!. A couple of years ago into her career as a pop star in Australia she was diagnosed with Cancer. Since then she has managed to battle through and recover which is fantastic.

Delta is now attempting an assualt on the American market and has been living and working in the states on her American debut album.

However, in a long tradition for opening ceremeonies the world over, a favorite daughter or son of the country gets to perform a song at the opening ceremony of their respective country's Olympics or Commonwealth Games. This last week it was Deltas's turn to perform. Her song Together we are one co-written with her boyfriend Brian McFadden is just stunning and set to the amazing scenes of rocket powered roller bladers is quite a sight!

As any of my friends know, I am a total sap when it comes to tragic sappy sachirin sweet love songs, and I especially love sappy songs with big specatcles like the Games Opening Ceremony. This song is no exception really, in the same vein as Celine Dion's "The Power of the Dream" at the Atlanta Olympics or Vanessa Amrosi's "Heros".

And through the wonders of the Internet we have in only a couple of days the song in all its glory!

Side Note:

In 2005 we were lucky enough to have met Delta and Brian at a party, my couple of reactions from this were, My God she is tall, LOL! And she does have the most perfect skin. That was a fun night, we also got to "play with" Darren Hayes, and I even met and split drinks on Anna Nicole Smith.
