Film & TV Reviews

Nothing is ever more exciting and awe inspiring than watching a movie or television show that really moves us and makes us emotional in one way or another. The genre of Gay and Lesbian entertainment has been defining itself over and over again for many years, but almost always from the alternative side of the film and entertainment industry. When Hollywood does a "gay" movie or includes a gay character the character inevitably is evil, dying (as in Philadelphia) or is so totally one dimensional without any sort of real emotions.

But sometimes we come across movies that portray real human emotion and give our gay and lesbian characters real empathy and dimensions.

Summer Storm

Latter Days
A movie that boasts a LA Party boy and hunky Mormon farmboy coming to terms with his sexuality certainly has the right ingredients to make a gay boy wet his pants in anticipation.

Angels in America
Mike Nichol’s sumptuous film adaptation of Mike Nichols’ play Angels in America is an amazing visual, musical and intellectual experience that deserves everyone of the 11 Emmy and 4 Globe Awards it won in 2004.

Come Undone

Come Undone

This is the movie that started the gay coming out story genre! The story is poignant and timeless and continues to be a favorite!

Billy Elliot

Billy Elliot
Billy Elliot is not a gay love story by any means, and Billy is not gay. But what makes this such a gay favorite is the touching and effortless way Billy relates to his gay best friend.
