Ramblings

It's a busy time of year with so much going on and the days ticking down till we go on our holidays. I have been saddled with a hell of a lot of work to get done and almost ridiculous time frames in which to achieve everything, but the carrot at the end of the stick is getting closer!
I have added a brand new section to the site on Fitness & Health which is aimed at people wanting to start an excercise program to get fit, lose weight or gain muscle. I have included some great pictures of people working out which shows the real way to do some of the many excercises. Also I have included my guide to getting rock solid killer abs.
I have also added my Age of Consent database and list so you can find out the age of consent for the different countries and states of the world.
More stuff is still to come, but I don't have a lot of time or energy to write stuff for the site at the moment. It's already Wednesday and I feel like I havent got enough done yet this week and my to do list is growing as more people give me things to do or the scope of work I am already doing increases. *Sigh* I will get there soon I hope!

New Toy and New Photo Gallery

I finally got my newest toy that I have been hankering for ages and boring everyone (sorry Lee) absolutely to tears. Yes drum roll please it's a new digital camera. I did all the research and read everything I could on the comparisons between digital cameras and settled on the Canon Ipux V, it's really really cool and I love it to bits. Last night was the final night of the first gay club I ever went to, so I duly took the camera and got some pretty fabulous pictures.
Have a look at Farewell to the Albury and tell me what you think of the pictures. i'm stil getting used to it and also in preparing images for the web so they arre the best quality but lowest file size.

Thursday Update

No matter how may promises I make to myself to update this page more than I do I never seem to get around to it!
I have been preoccupied with work and my social life over the last couple of weeks (hey what's new?), but I also have my upcoming holiday on my mind. Six weeks five days to go!. We are going to take most of December off and we are flying to Europe, well actually the UK and Finland, and I can't wait to see all my friends (Virpi, Sari, Maarit, Dan, Dan , Dan and of coourse Dan). Everyone I tell we are going to Finland looks at me quite blankly and says why Finland?
Well the answer is quite simple to see my dearest friends and spend Christmas and New Year in the North Pole, yeah I am not kidding here, we are travelling up to lapland for Christmas which is bloody exciting, because this is the real home of Santa Claus and his elves. People keep on telling me that I am mad to go at that time of year, since it is going to be as cold as cold can possibly get, but I don't care and am getting really exited by the whole thing.
I was in Finland last year and it was really amazing and I want to see more and psend more time just pottering around.
So six weeks and five days to go and counting down!

News on the Site

I have been very busy with new content and information for Superdrewby, even if you can't see it all yet. The two resources I have been adding are on Fitness & Health, and Your Stuff.
Fitness and Health will contain information tailored for a wide audience on general fitness issues including gym routines, gaining muscle, losing fat, diets, food and nutrition supplments and most importantly how to get Killer abs! The new section will be launched this coming weekend and has images of how to do excercises, workout routines and is aimed at both the beginner and the experienced trainer.
Your Stuff is the new section on Superdrewby where I will be publishing your stories, artwork, poetry, rants and raves. If you want to contribute email me or send me the manuscript!

Rants and Raves

I had written this entire rant and rave on the bogus and self serving concept of web awards for gay and lesbian sites, but somewhere alongt he way the blogger mechanism stuffed up and it never showed up on the page - oh well I will just ahve to rewrite it later.

The Weekend and some thoughts

We had a good weekend, very slow and very relaxing with only a little bit of work to do, which as per usual I had to do at the last minute. We went out Friday night and then I stayed in on Saturday while Lee went out to a bucks night. He was soooo cute when he came home, because he was so drunk, and he is so cute when he is drunk.
On Sunday I finally did a bit of clearing up of stuff that has been sitting under the house in an old suitcase ever since I moved in to my house two years ago. One of the things I found was my old school shirt which was signed by some of the people I went to school with on the last day.
I picked it up and looked at it and it made me remember my school days and what they meant to me. Now many people remember their school days with fondness and excitement. On the other hand many people remember thir school days with nothing other than disdain.and grateful thanks that they are over. I know that I describe school with a romantic twist but the reality is very different. I went to an all boys private school which was very homophobic, straight and religous. The average boys that went to my school were spoilt rich kids who had no real idea of life and how hard it was for other people.
Looking at the people that had signed my shirt I realised that the only reson I wanted to keep it was because some of my favorite teachers signed it as well. I thought about throwing it out - after all it's been ten years since I left school and I'm not really interested in remembering the dark times that I put up with.
But I decided to keep it and let it serve as a reminder to me, about how people can be bigoted, narrow minded and nasty. In the midst of all that though there were some roses amongst all the thorns, they were the teachers who cared and treated me with respect and friendship. Thanks Cheryl, Mrs Green (for the life of me I can't remember her first name) and thanks Mark for standing up for me and letting me know that the entire world wasn't made of homphobic dickheads.

Other People's Diaries

I'm a voyeur, I really am and I love to read about other people's lives in all their glorious macabre details. I am a bit of a blogophile - Blog - A form of online diary. A couple of my favorite blogs that I read almost religously are:
In the Closet Boy
Boy Ashamed and
Christopher Street
It's funny how we get sucked into to other people's lives so easily and read all about their hopes, dreams catastrophes and details of their seemingly normal existence. I love the web because it allows us all to experience other people's ideas in an easy environment.

Privacy on the Web

Today I came accross a very interesting article on something called scumware - have a look at their site at http://www.scumware.com. Scumware are programs that you downlaod or are downloaded for you to do things like hold password and profile information. they then overwrite advertising on the site with ehat they want you to see - even if it is not their site. For a long time I have been using the password program Gator from http://www.gator.com without actually knowing that Gator has one of the worst privacy policies in existence and overwrites advertising on other people's sites causing them lost revenue and if unchecked also tracks all the pages you visit and allows some nameless marketer to know exactly what you do. I for one don't want someone to track my computer use and so I have instead loaded the freeware program RoboForm at http://www.roboform.com.
If you have gator get rid of it straight away usingt he information on the Scumware site and install RoboForm instead. To find out more information about privacy see my column on Privacy and staying anonymous online.
